Hotel Anglais Stockholm
November 7 – December 16, 2012
The exhibition, TRACES OF DAYS, challenges today’s fast point and shoot esthetics and joins the ranks of Slow Photography.
Slow shutter speed of several minutes, specifically chosen location in Stockholm,
and carefully arranged nuances give the viewer an encounter with pictures that allow themselves to be slow.
Anja Callius, based in Stockholm, studied at Brooks Institute of Photography in California. She received the Roland Polhem Scholarship from Hasselblad in 1999.
“...boats pass my lens leaving light, transparent, lines on the negative. People leave traces as faint silhouettes...a carousel is spinning...a ferry passes and I follow it...” Anja Callius

The exhibition, PORTRAITS, highlights photographer Morgan Norman's work.
Morgan Norman, based in Stockholm, shoots portraits in Europe, Russia, New York and Los Angeles.
“Morgan Norman’s work is theatrical, romantic, bleak and dreamy. His images are much influenced by the location of the shoot. He allows it to define a natural relationship with the model, and from there guides the setting till it fulfills his expectation. He likes to experiment with colors, tones and structures…” – VICTOR by Hasselblad 1 / 2009

These images tells a vivid story of life around the fighting arena. Beyond The Punch explores the trials and tribulations of fighters and professionals in a backstage world of not only fighting, but also joy and friendship.
Tina Axelsson has in collaboration with fighter Paolo Roberto created a strong series of photographs that invite the viewer into the world of fighting.
Tina is interested in, not so much the fights, but more what goes on before and after. The relationship between trainer and fighter. Moments of joyful bliss or total dispair.
So much feeling is revealed in the details and Tina considers herself fortunate to be invited and able to catch these moments in her images.

These images are a selection of photos chosen to represent the unique qualities of Photographer Lea Bruno's work. This collection of images explores hidden urban landscapes and graffiti art culture, highlighting parts of the city generally forgotten.
Lea Bruno has been exploring, trespassing, and photographing in the Bay Area since receiving his first camera five years ago. An Oakland native, he has been involved in graffiti art culture for most of his life. His work has been widely published in books and magazines, and displayed in galleries from San Francisco to Berlin.
Lea Bruno creates an interpretation of the urban landscape, and the intense, exciting feelings that these locations create. His process is a personal
challenge, to be brave, to enter dangerous areas, and to focus on taking photos in tense and often scary situations.

Both powerful and contemplative, this set of abstract images reveals images within. Abstracted landscapes, seascapes and clouds are the fabrics of this collection. By abstraction original images are stripped down to small elements, showing us details and colors otherwise hidden.
Hans is an entrepreneur working in the fields of software, design and photography. Through working together with great photographers, he has descovered images within, which in a way make up every image.
He is committed to sharing and bringing fourth the world of photography to as many people as possible.
Hans is also the founder of Wonderframe.
In every image there are other images to discover. Abstraction is one way of revealing hidden colors, shapes and details that I hope you find as intriquing as I do.
To me it is a fascinating fact that although only an echo of the original prevails in the abstract, every part of the abstract exists in the original.

The Seat 12A collection is a remarkable set of photographs taken on a ten hour flight between San Francisco and Amsterdam. This collection encompasses feelings of beauty, serenity and magic of the Earth from above.
Hans Fast is an entrepreneur working in the fields of software, design and photography.
"I fly a lot and I then often find myself gazing out of the window in fascination for the drama and beauty of the sky.
On this particular flight, the cabin window was exceptionally clear, and without a scratch.
The colors were vivid and you could see for miles. During the next ten hours,
Earth showed one splendid scene after another, changing moods quickly, entertaining everyone, and demanding nothing in return.
Colors, drama, beauty and detail — everything appeared like magic and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
From time to time, I found myself shaking my head, awestruck at all this beauty. I was constantly shooting."
